Meta Faces Copyright Lawsuit

On March 10, 2025, the National Publishing Union (SNE) and several authors took legal action against Meta. The complaint accuses the platform of using book excerpts without prior agreement, which would violate the Intellectual Property Code.
According to SNE figures, the French book market was valued at 3.9 billion euros in 2022, highlighting the economic significance of the works involved. In this context, creators are demanding fair compensation and better adherence to the law, while Meta now has to defend itself in French court.
China Ramps Up AI Learning for the Young

The Beijing government recently announced an AI learning program for elementary school students. By 2025, more than 200 schools are expected to have integrated these courses into their curriculum, according to the Beijing Education Commission. OpenAI has officially rolled out Operator across the European Union, covering its 27 member states. Designed to automate complex tasks through conversational queries, this AI agent can handle up to 10,000 requests simultaneously, according to the company.
OpenAI's goal is to offer a solution tailored to the needs of organizations of all sizes, particularly those in customer service, research, and data analysis sectors. With this deployment, OpenAI strengthens its presence in the rapidly growing European AI market.
OpenAI Seeks to Ban DeepSeek in the U.S.

In the legal arena, OpenAI has officially requested a ban on DeepSeek, a rival AI solution accused of disseminating unverified content. The company highlights risks associated with the use of sensitive data and the spread of false information. The case raises questions about corporate responsibility for potential misinformation generated by their algorithms.
According to CB Insights, the U.S. AI market is estimated at $299 billion, underscoring the significant economic stakes involved in regulating these technologies in an increasingly competitive environment.
